Life, Adjacent
A Poem

Life, adjacent —
Presence in the present,
Missed the tactile creation of character —
Actor, developed through method.
Music from the foreshore,
For sure never thought this would be normal,
Normally the sand feels warmer,
Warning of temperatures to come.
Soon, another —
Never long to be longing,
Escaping heavy weight of uncertainty —
Certainly better than what we had.
Your letter in my pocket,
Locket with a photo of last Christmas,
With this thought I cast it out,
About to walk into the ocean.
